One of the requirements for those who wanna work offshore, they have to undergo some offshore survival training in the event ur workplace sink. that's what me and ming had to go and do last week. we reported to MSTS Asia which is situated in Pasir Gudang, Johore. paid quite a large sum of money just to get ourselves dipped and drank lots of water too, I took the Basic North Sea module while ming took the BOSEIT module.
We checked ourselve into a hotel by the name... Grand Dragon which is a budget hotel in Permas Jaya, some 12km from the place of training. the hotel comes with free breakfast, free wifi internet, good room service and very helpful staffs too. we had to pay rm35 per head for a twin sharing room. the room is clean, smell good, aircond and water heater work well too. it has a 5 channels astro tv plus most of the channels from singapore and local tv networks. altogether u will be getting like more than 10 channels. besides the facilities in the room, all other ammenities are within walking distance, food, gym, dobi, pub/bar, spa, massage parlour, dvd stalls, bookstores, jaya jusco, starbucks, mcD, kfc, etc! all within 1 breath of walk only! dobi is rm1.25 per kg which for me is quite reasonable hahahahahah

Reported to the training center the next day after we settled down in the hotel. there are 16 of students in my class. we learn things like Safety and Offshore InductionHSE Behaviour, CultureNorwegian Rules & Regulations, Helicopter Safety Procedures, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), Emergency Breathing System Exercises (EBS), Basic Sea Survival, Skyscape Evacuation (Rescue Chute), Lifeboat Evacuation (Free Fall), First Aid, Hypothermia, Fire Fighting & Self Rescue and watch alot of videos too. the food is great and the overall conduct of the course is great (compare to all the trainings i went through at other training centers).

It was a nice course for me and an eye opener for the new stage of my life soon. towards the end of the course, only 6 of us are still together and finish the course where we started 5 days ago. some of them 'graduate' earlier because of different modules they are taking hahahahaha
