Early this afternoon when we went out to recce for a new 2nd hand car for Aunty Ann, we didn't expect her to drive home in it. Yes, I'm still a bit shocked because in Malaysia, you don't go out to buy a car and come back driving one FULLY PAID. Thanks to Proton, the money to buy an imported car in Malaysia can buy you a house (depend on what kind though). Following Aunty Ann for her car shopping made me feel a bit nostalgic about my Toyota Vios. She served me very well. She never died down on me, except once - no oil, I was pushing my luck too far I think. Well, my first car was a proton, dad bought it for me. And then I traded that in for the Toyota Vios. I hope my next car will be another Toyota. When I was driving the Proton, I dreaded the journey to and from work, driving manual isn't too ideal in KL's traffic jam. After I got the Vios, believe it or not, I looked forward to driving to and from work. It was so relaxing and I was quite a bully on the road. I still think Formula 1 is waiting for me to be their first female driver. With my superb driving skills, Vios could race almost any cars on KL road. haha...
When I decided to leave everything behind and come to England, one of the things I missed most is my Vios. I know there are better cars out there, but... hrm... I never did any modification on her, she's as original as it can be. We've sold her now to one of Loon's friend. Hopefully she will be well taken care of. Under us, she had the best treatment, Toyota Service 100% although it cost quite a lot for each service. She was involved in a minor accident once though, I hit a police car, Vios was ok but the police car was injured quite badly. Thankfully, the policeman was nice.

Anyway, we went to a few car dealers today. Basically Aunty Ann wants a small car and it must be automatic. I do notice over here in England, there are a lot of small cars! In Malaysia, eventhough it is not necessary, most drive big cars! Perhaps they are more practical over here. Finally, we found a nice Renault Clio at this dealership called Global Cars in North Acton. Owned by I think a family from Beirut. We went for a test drive and all, and it's SOLD. Fully paid by cash, that's the best part. Last time I was asked "Cindy, what is the best car?" I said "BMW" and Pastor Peter Ting said "No. The best car is a fully paid for car." Indeed it is. In Malaysia, you must have owned your car for the last 7-9 years if you've fully paid your car, or you're really cash rich you can afford to fully pay your car.

buy back the same model kah? hahahahhaha
not the same model ok... can't u see it's a much newer version... the older clio is around 15 years old whereas the new one is about 7 yrs old, but on the road only 4 yrs.
We had quite a bargain actually. Thanks to top Haggler, Sean Stevens. lol
i fully paid for my current car (protan saga)5 years ago. it's cost rm 9k for 12yrs old car. :)
hahaha... now... is OSK IT Dept all on leave? How come the firewall allow you to enter blogspot?
I dunno if RM9K is cheap of exp for a 12 yr old car. If here, u spend RM14K can buy a VW Golf 9 yr old car. Then again as I mentioned earlier, Proton had deprived Malaysians from owning quality cars. Even the protons sold to Malaysians are second grade, compared to those they export out. sigh If got money, just splash on a toyota!
Oh Cassie, I forgot to mention, your sister's Nissan sentra is good... should buy it from her. I heard u say she's selling it? Another good car is Yew Ling's new Honda Accord, she said then it was RM100K, it might be cheaper now... the way Yew Ling is driving, entering every pot holes, and the car is still in very good shape... it's a good car. haha
my firewall is special, i can enter blogspot but not fb. sigh..
currently i don't want to buy any car yet. fyi, don't buy my sis's car, she is a rough driver, her car more calar then my face.. hahaha

Hey Chris, yes I think we've got a confirmed buyer for the vios.
As for the condo, we will leave it for the moment, if things are more stable, will sell it next year. We shall see.
Hugs to Charles and Belle. :)
